Happy? But situations in the Muslim world is still sad as it was 500
years
ago since we relaxed our quest for knowledge. Because of that influence
and
power shifted to the Christian world - and have remained there ever
since.

The figures are speaking themselves very loudly but we refuse to listen.
Some thoughts - Extracts of speech by Hafez A.B. Mohamed.
Director-General,
Al Baraka Bank.

*Demographics: **
** **o World Jewish population: 14 million*
o Distribution: 7m in America
5m in Asia
2m in Europe
100 thousands in Africa
*o World Muslim population: 1.5 billion*
o Distribution: 1 billion in Asia/Mid-East
400m in Africa
44m in Europe
6m in the Americas

o Every fifth human being is a Muslim.
o For every single Hindu there are two Muslims
o For every Buddhist there are two Muslims
o For every Jew there are 107 Muslims

Yet the 14 *million* Jews are more powerful than the
entire 1.5 *billion* Muslims...

*Why..?*

Here are some of the reasons.

*Movers of Recent History**
* o Albert Einstein - Jewish
o Sigmund Freud - Jewish
o Karl Marx - Jewish
o Paul Samuelson - Jewish
o Milton Friedman - Jewish

*Medical Milestones*

o Embryology: Stanley Cohen - Jewish
o Kidney dialysis: Willem Kloffcame - Jewish

*Nobel Prize Winners*
In the past 105 years, the 14 million Jews have won *180**
*Nobel prizes whilst the 1.5 billion Muslims have achieved only *3*
Nobel
winners.

*Inventions that changed History*

o Walter Annenberg - Jewish

Why are they powerful and why are Muslims powerless?

Here's another reason... *We have lost the capacity to**
produce knowledge.*
o In the entire Muslim world (57 Muslim countries) there
are only 500 universities
o In USA alone, 5,758 universities
o In India alone, 8,407 universities

Not one university in the entire Islamic World features
in the Top 500 Ranking Universities of the World

o Literacy in the Christian world - 90%
o Literacy in the Muslim world - 40%
o 15 Christian-majority countries' literacy rate - 100%
o Muslim-majority countries with 100% - *None**
* o 98% in Christian countries completed primary education
o Only 50% in Muslim countries completed primary education
o 40% in Christian countries attended university
o In Muslim countries, a dismal 2% attended university
o Muslim-majority countries have 230 scientists per million
o The USA has 5000 per million
o The Christian world - 1000 technicians per million
o Entire Arab world - only 50 technicians per million
o Muslim world spending on R&D - *0.2%* of GDP
o Christian world's R&D - *5.0%* of GDP

*Conclusions*
The Muslim world lacks the capacity to produce
knowledge.

Another way of testing the degree of knowledge is the
degree of diffusing knowledge.
o Pakistan: 23 daily newspapers per 1000 citizens
o Singapore: 460 per 1000 citizens
o UK book titles per million is 2000
o Egypt book titles per million is only 17

Conclusion.. .
Muslim World is failing to diffuse knowledge.

Applying knowledge is another such test.
o Exports of high-tech products from Pakistan: 0.9%
o In Saudi Arabia : only 0.2%
o Kuwait, Morocco and Algeria : only 0.3%
o Tiny Singapore (4mil pop.) : 68% ...!

Conclusion.. .
Muslim world is failing to apply knowledge.

What do *you* conclude? No need to tell... The figures are speaking
themselves very loudly but we are unable to use the ears Allah gave us
to
listen and eyes to let us see...

*Advice**
**Please educate yourself and your children. Excuses like lack
of money, ability or opening are nothing more than that - **excuses**. *

*Always promote education, don't compromise on it. We hate to be weak,
illiterate and poor but are we too weak to give our children the
opportunity
to break the curse?*

*Don't ignore your children's slightest misguidance from education...
and
please, for Allah's sake, don't use your personal contacts to promote
your
children in their**
education. If they fail, let them because it will make them learn the
sweetness of success. Remember... if they can't do it now, they can't
ever.*

*
**With knowledge comes power, and with it even the small can rule over
the
big. We are world's biggest but sadly NOT strongest nation.***

* *

All we need is to identify and explore our inner selves. Insha-Allah,
our weapon to victory, our duty to spread God's words and our
opportunity
save all humankind is best through knowledge, creativity, literacy...
And
nothing else.

*.... Wake up O khalifahs of the land ...*

dinner

kami ke asda, mengangkut biskut bobon, biskut bobon abis stok, budak mengamuk. Mencuba kamera baru di E71, fon baru di tahun baru. Mula-mula cuba try Storm, memang cun, tapi takde faedah sgt, test iphone, iphone ni style je lebih, function pun lebih , tapi cliche ramai org sini pakai, saya anti Apple walaupun Apple rocks! Sbb platform Apple tak support 3dsmax so kira tak rock habis.E71 so far so good, pakai three, £20 sbulan, nak pakai storm, iphone, dlm £35 sbulan, dapat beratus ,minit n txt free. Takperlu.

Kat sini sungguh syok. Tambah-tambah kalu kaki bergaya takde duit. Kaki bergaya hisap rokok, letak hanfon atas meja. Atau kaki bergaya dikedai mamak, sambil tekan-tekan henfon. Atau kaki buat-buat sibuk macam bisnes juta-juta. Tak puashati, pulangkan fon anda, tak byk soal. Cari fon baru. Kat sini org tak pandang fon, so takpayah nak bergaya ). Di Zimbabwe bleh bergaya ).

Masih menunggu album Yngwie-Odyssee habis dload. Ini lagu nostalgia. Zaman gila Yngwie. Tahun lepas Yngwie turun Glasgow. Teringin nak tgk, tikit £20. Rumah dekat dgn Hampden stadium. Tahun lepas ada konsert Bon Jovi, mat ni rock glam. Dulu minat, sekarang poster dia buat alas kasut. Rock glam dah lama obsolete.

Semua tidur awal malam ni, taktau mana dpt pil tidur.Yg dengar dengkuran sahaja. Lepas kerja, ada teman baru, E71 , hoover, buffer semua tolak tepi. Baca paper, journal, baru rock duk dlm tandas. Line masih belum activate. Haram sungguh!

Tangan menggeletar, heater on, tp kuasa sejuk Tuhan lagi kuat. Duvet sampai 3 lapis pun masih sejuk. Sebab duvet pun sejuk macam ais. Malam ini dinner lasagne, mushroom soup, hovis, memang sedap. Gambar diambil dgn E71, takboleh lawan d40. Boleh utk rakam gambar info, Bukan utk astetika.

2hari lepas menelefon Peter di Netherland, kawan masa di Cyprus. Saja bertanya khabar. Very friendly. Peter merupakan channel manager euro Kodak.
www.printweek.com/news/790104/Kodak-IQSmart/ bertanya event terkini mengenai photography di Euro. Sejak join Facebook, yg memang tak ambil pot selama ini, byk faedahnya, thanks to Ezwan tv3 yg memaksa utk register. Dr facebook nilah dapat trace blk member lama. Baru sedar rupanya kawan saya berada dimerata dunia. InsyaAllah saya akan kais pagi, kais petang utk melawat mereka.

sebenarnya makanan ni sedap, tp gambar menjadikan ia tak sedap

test power e71 nye cam yg tak berapa power

Something to share

i found this interesting article by my dean in Msia, he is a Canadian, i really enjoy his talk. Here are some points from him for 2009.

THE DEAN'S Desk :: ISSUE 1.09

>> January 5, 2009 <<

Beginning a New Year is always fraught with apprehension.
Will it be a good year? One thing we know it looks like
2009 will be an unpredictable one. Much of what we will
face is the result of history. In the last century the population
of the world has increased by four and the population living
in cities by thirteen. Overall world output grew by a factor of forty,
the use of water by 9, energy by 13, and the dreaded carbon emissions
by 17. All this to say, what we face is a product of our own creation,
both the good and bad.

Other factors that will shape our future are at odds with
each other. The age profile of societies is shifting with
less births and a growing older segment as people are generally
living longer. Traditionally we had a population base like a
pyramid with a foundation of youth and a tip of elderly.
Now the structure looks more like a skyscraper, fairly even
from top to bottom.

2009 will present the older population with an ever younger
technological media base. This is our key area as it presents
expanded educational and employment opportunities. We are
preparing, especially in FCM, our students for jobs that do
not yet exist within our 4 year window. In addition, some
knowledge can and will very quickly become redundant. It is
predicted that half of what a student learns in the first
year of a 4 year University programme will be obsolete by
the 3rd year or at least by graduation. Changes accelerates
the process more each year. That is a huge obligation that
FCM faces, to stay on top of change as, or more importantly
before, it appears at our door.

Every month there are approximately 31 billion searches on
Google. It took 38 years for the medium of radio to acquire
an audience of 50 million listeners. Facebook did that in 2 years!
We usually accept that it is easier for the young to deal with
technological change as they are "Born Digital". For us, in FCM,
we must embrace the challenge of an ever evolving media landscape
and keep our programmes and courses as close to the edge as possible.
We too as faculty, must change with the times and expand our horizons.

Over the holidays in my reading of newspapers, magazines and
a couple of books, I gleaned some exciting tech trends that will
appear in the coming year. * 1. Cloud Computing: expected to be the
next big thing is a concept that involves large pools of computers
to share an IT infrastructure. It creates a centralized, simplified
technology for use when needed, lowering the cost and use of energy.
It has a predicted market in excess of $36 billion in 2008.
* 2. UCC - Unified Communications and Collaboration, takes on the need
for constant ubiquitous connectivity to enhance internal and
external communication. The emergence of virtualization will see an
increased focus on services and applications delivered over a robust
network. The user is now concerned with how they can get simple and
secure access to services. * 3. Netbooks: this technology is the next
wave of smaller, portable, economic personal devices. They will create
new ways of working and use. Limited storage and processing power
will couple to focus their use on internet connectivity tapping into
and running applications through the cloud. * 4. OnLine applications:
will grow even more in 2009. Companies like Google Docs, ThinkFree Office
and Zoho all offer free online word processing, spreadsheets etc. More
will follow fast. * 5. USB 3.0, will be one of the next consumer favorites
boosting data transfer up to 10 times that of USB 2.0 enabling transfer
of 27 Gigs to an externals device in about 70 seconds. This again will
change the datascape and ways of working. * 6. Faster/Secure Wireless:
with pervasive mobile communications filled with applications the new
WiFi protocols will be key to enabling consumers to evolve their
communications to even higher levels of connectivity. * 7. RFID Mobile
Phones: it is predicted that within 5 years, 50% of phones will have
this feature embedded. This, manufacturers are hoping, will change the
way we buy products and use credit cards. (The Nation, 30.12.08, 10A)

All predictions and trends are just that, they wait to play out over
the already crowded media tech landscape. How and what will be coming
along waits to be seen. Suffice it to say that 2009 will open many new
avenues that FCM can explore in order to prepare our students to meet
the jobscape they will face. FCM will continue to build our curriculum
on the strong foundation of design and media processes that have held
true since the founding of the faculty. However, we must be ever vigilant
adapting and incorporating, when and where necessary, new paradigms
to produce graduates for the world of creative multimedia in all its forms.

As 2009 moves in it will present us with many as yet unknown challenges,
both as a Faculty, University and a member of the academy. We will face
them up front drawing from the combined experience of our collective
knowledge. More will be asked of you as we move forward. Together
we can.... boldly go.... where we have not yet gone.

All the best for 2009. Stay safe and well.

Pembuka tirai 2009

Pembuka tirai tahun 2009,
ada bermandi darah, ada berhujan bom, ada terloncat-loncat tak tau arah tujuan, ada yg mabuk, ada yg kena tangkap hisap dadah, ada kena tangkap pesta seks. Ini cerita benar. Ini cerita orang Islam bukan cerita org kafir. Ini cerita org yg datuk nenek moyang dia agama Islam. Orang ini tak ambil kisah pasal saudara seagama yg kena bunuh, kene bom, mati, lapar. Itu cerita dr tempat lain. Tempat kita selamat. Jgn kisah, cukup dgn bertempik didepan kedutaan, bakar bendera, koyak bendera selebihnya kita menonton di tv, bagaimana budak putus tangan, bagaimana org meraung sakit, tak cukup makan, minum air lopak.

Amir, Akif & Afiq paling ceria. Ini tempat mereka, syurga utk mereka dr duk bergaduh dirumah. Budak-budak tikit separuh harga £5,dewasa £10 utk 10 rides. Naik stargate terus loya. Memang sah saya sudah tua. Plan utk berjalan juga cancel. Winter mmg utk tidur dirumah.Buat lemak, duduk dalam duvet, browse internet. Itu kerja harian. Orang shopping sudah balik. Carboot masih belum buka, booters mau raya sakan. Peminat booters saja kepingan nak bersua muka. Maka duduklah kita dibumi sejuk ini. Menanti subuh, sembahyang dan tidur.

Boxing day

Biskut kegemaran sekarang. Stok biskut bobon ada dekat 20biji. Biskut murah kat sini, 23pence sebungkus.Afiq tak pandai main game lagi. Dia pandai pasang DVD. Dia pasang tv,pasang movie, dia tinggal tak berpenonton.

Kalau dia tak faham kene buka google tunjuk gambar. Bacaan BI dia lagi laju dr BM,bacaan BM dia macam orang senak perut membaca. Sangkut-sangkut.Afiq juga bersemangat membaca, tapi bertanya lagi byk dr membaca. Ini apa ni. Ini apa ni. Penat nak menjawap soalan yg sama.

Hari ini masih menggodek tablet. Amir minta belikan satu utknya, bila dia tau harga sebijik 160 pound, dia terdiam. Semalam Danny datang dr Edinburgh, datang nak shopping kat Glasgow.Lepak di travel lodge Paisley. Danny mmg kaki travel lodge.Hari ini hari boxing day. Hari orang berlumba, bertumbuk utk membeli belah. Hari orang menjadi gila utk membeli. Ada kedai buka seawal 6 pagi kata orang. Saya tidak ambil pot pasal shopping. Sejak duk disini, saya tak ada nafsu utk shopping. Bukan kedekut, bukan sesak pitis.

Sekarang masa utk mengurangkan barang dirumah. Ada hajat nak mencari LCD 50 inci tapi terpaksa disimpan. Sebab kami hendak balik Msia selama 5 bulan. Tunggu datang balik, baru sedap sikit mata menonton. 50inci baru puas. Kalau 60 lagi puas. Duit pun puas jugak utk membayar. Kalau cap ayam tak syok kata orang, tak puas hati, kene Sony,Samsung, Sharp baru rasa berbaloi abis duit. Minat dgn tv, hometheatre, memang dr dulu. UK memang tempat utk benda sebegini. Kat Msia orang gila audio berhabisan berpuluh ribu membeli barang ini. Buat home cinema kat rumah.

Memang syok.TV resolusi tinggi mana class layan torrent movie, gambar pecah, sakit hati, sakit jiwa! Kepingan jugak, tapi tunggu semua balik semula dr Msia. Byk nak kene settle. Setakat ini utk hari ini sekadar menghabiskan cuti winter. Selamat bershopping utk org yg suka bershopping.

Cerita semalam di www.izani.co.uk, jgn baca kalau malas, jgn baca kalau boring, sebab ia satu cerita boring di Xmas yg boringwww.izani.co.uk
