last week, virgin media announced -home users broadband upgrading for free,fyi min speed is 2mb, and in the near future, they are targeting up to 50mb, according to the news.This is heaven for IT ppl.

Our L tier broadband service is now up to a supersonic speed 10Mb. Even though the existing 4Mb service was already 2 times faster than similar products from other industry players, we've decided to step on the gas and more than double the speed!
In addition,We've also increased our upload speed to 512Kb.
What does this mean for customers?
To give you an idea of the new speeds, our Broadband Size: L customers will be able to download an MP3 track in 4 seconds, a full album in less than 1 minute, or an episode of their favourite TV show in just 5 minutes.
Youngsters To Be Taught When Not To Use 'Text-Speak'Feb 20 2008
YOUNGSTERS are to be taught when it is and is not acceptable to use text-speak as part of a new literacy drive launched by the Scottish Government today.
Under its new Curriculum for Excellence, the government wants teachers to give renewed attention to basic skills such as spelling, comprehension, punctuation and debate.
With increased internet use, such as webcasts, podcasts, blogging and social networking sites, pupils will also be asked to look at how they communicate on-line, schools minister Maureen Watt said.
Ms Watt added that while teaching will still concentrate on words on paper, it must also take into account news and information obtained from TV, newspapers, email and text messaging.
"Communication in the modern workplace is essential. Employers expect and are demanding core literacy skills from school leavers," she said.
"Young people are immersed in technology and the tools that help them create websites, blogs, videos and podcasts also allow them to be authors and publishers.
"They can reach a worldwide audience, so we have to teach them to do this well.
"We would be failing them if we just stand by and ignore these developments."
The new guidance forms part of English literacy "draft outcomes" which are published today, as part of the government's plans to introduce a more "holistic" approach to education for children aged three to 18.
The minister said the new curriculum is intended to help teachers make teaching more relevant, exciting and engaging.
"We are keen to receive feedback on the outcomes from professionals who will be working towards this transformation across Scottish education," she added.
"It is vitally important that teachers read and react to these draft outcomes and think about how they will be able to use this guidance to make their teaching as good as it can be."

pagi ni plan nak outing, ingat nak makan2 kat luar, dah survey dah smalam cafe mana, byk Pakistan nyer cafe,harituh dah try nando's kat Quay,not bad..bleh la kalau ngidam, ingat nak tray charcoal & grill,kat city centre, bangun pun dah lewat, kul 3 umi lak ada meeting kat umah k pah, meeting skolah msia glasgow,so makan kat rumah la nampaknya, finally ada org offer nak wat nasi ayam, yum-yum...bleh la, aku pun malas nak kuar, harap2 kang ada rezki umah k pah, maklum la k pah nih chef kat sini, mcm2 benda dia masak, harini tak gi carboot, aku pun malas gak nak ke carboot, tiap2 minggu mesti tak miss nyer,
kalo bab nak shopping benda murah, gi la sana, mcm2 ada, kalo minat toys ,situlah tempatnya, name it, from fisher price,leap frog,vtech,ELC...few to name..mcm2 ada, seme in good cond.& good bargain..rumah aku ni pun taktau apa benda lagi tak cukup, memandangkan mak bapak mmg minat toys, so pantang ada good offer aku akan sambau dulu, byk gak yg dah disimpan sbb tak larat nak kemas, yg syoknya toys kat sini mmg hi quality, yg kat msia mmg tak mampu nak beli, just imagine workstation leap frog tu rm512 kat msia, kalau kat carboot bleh dpt dlm rm35-rm100 , tu aku tak sabar nak pindah rumah nih, sbb aku kenkadang kesian kat budak2 ni asyik duk terperap jek dlm rumah, kene carik rumah ada laman, baru sdap skit, arituh dah survey kat area depan sana,lawa rumahnya harga tak sampai pun 500Pound, tp masih lagi survey, kalu bleh nak yg luar skit dr govanhill, maklum la kat sini terlalu multi cultural...
amir pun aku ingat nak tukarkan skolah, bukan apa aku rasa kurang cepat development kat skolah annette, memandangkan umi pibg skolah tu, so tau la gak skit sbyk masalah skolah, skolah mmg bagus cuma environment utk budak2 mmbesar tu lain skit dr skolah yg didominate oleh local scottish, pro nya skolah tu makanan pun terjamin,sbb ramai muslim, so tgk la keadaan nya camne...it's totally undeniable , aku penah ckp ngan mmber aku yg pindahkan anak dia dr skolah yg ramai scottish ke annette atas sbb2 yg x dpt nak elak, mmg nampak ketara perbezaan development, so aku ingat benda ni penting, kalo tak aku rasa sia2 jek duk o.sea tp tak fully utilise ...my 10 pence

lama tak update gambar, smalam gi glasgow Univ sbb ada imigresen day, sapa2 nak renew paspot,register anak baru,adik baru, bini baru seme bleh buat, jabatan imigresen dtg 2 hari...harini ada lagi, aku cam biasa la gi menyemak majlis dgn budak2 ni, actually umi supply donut & sosej roll, habis licin hehehe...kayo2..bleh gi Blochairn harini...lama tak gi Blochairn...ingat nak intai kasut baru..maklumla kasut haritu dah kotor...tensen aku tgk kasut tu..mmndgkan kasut aku beli kat carboot tu dlm2-3 pound ,,terus aku pakai buang jek hehehe..bukan nyer aku kaya tp sbb kasut murah..nike air lak tuh...nak beli timberland pun lom ada duit lg, bukan mahal sgt tp tgh berjimat cermat la katakan..
plan nak ke rumah sis in law kat germany, tp taktau lagi...btw skang disneyland paris tgh ada offer,budak2 bawah 12 thn masuk free...bayar utk mak bapak jek,
memandangkan budak2 ni pun dah gi disneyland hong kong hari tu.so nothing to rush, kalau ada duit leh naik high speed train dr london ke paris...disneyland ni mmg utk budak2 sonok aa..level mak bapak ni dah tak syok sgt., aku lbih suka theme ride, cam t2 park (terminator 2) di univ. studio, masa aku gi last 2000,
gambar2 kat bawah ni minggu lepas, masa snow turun di govanhill...
gambar budak2 tgh bfast...time ni mmg paling sibuk dgn pe'el masing2..
first time aku main snow masa di germany, aku tak ingat munich ke berlin, masa gi conference...jakun giler...maklum la org kampung main snow...

Can a family man with Salary RM3,000 survive in Malaysia
Let's do some simple calculations here.
In Malaysia , the average family income is RM3,000 /month
(where father works, mother doesn't).
I understand there are many families whose
monthly income does not reach RM3,000,
but, to make things simple,
let's take RM3,000 as the figure. Ok lah, right?
Okay, let's start rolling with a family which has
Papa, Mama, 1 daughter and 1 son. Ngam-ngam ....
Calculation starts...
Electricity and water bill: RM100
(No air-con, No home theatre, No water heater ... ok?)
Phone bill ( Telekom): RM100
Meals for a happy family: RM775
(3 meals on RM25/day, RM25 for 4 persons...?)
Papa makan / teh-tarik during working hrs: RM155
(RM5/day, RM5 ... can eat what?)
Car repayment: RM400
(A proton saga aeroback, 7 yrs repayment)
Petrol (living in city, traffic-jam) : RM300
(go to work, bring son to school,
only can afford one car running)
Insurance: RM650
(kids, wife and myself)
House repayment: RM750
(low cost housing repayment for 30 yrs,
retired still have to work to pay!)
Tuition: RM80
(got that cheap meh? i don't think so)
Older children pocket money @ school: RM20
(RM1/day, eat bread?)
School fees: RM30
(enough ah?)
School books and etc: RM100
(always got extra to pay in school)
Younger children milk powder: RM50
(cannot have the DHA, BHA, PHA one, expensive)
Miscellaneous: RM100

no movie @ cinema,
no DVD,
no CD,
no online,
cannot KFC,
cannot McDonald,
cannot go Park walk during weekend (petrol expensive),
no chit chat on phone with grandparents, and etc...
Let's use a calculator to total up... WALAO EH! Shit! RM3,610 already...
EPF belum potong, income tax lagi........ oledi RM3,610 ....
How to survive lah tuan-tuan dan puan-puan sekalian ???

How to change? Don't eat? Don't work? Don't send children to school and study?
Besides that, I believe in Malaysia population, there are millions of
rakyat Malaysia which still don't earn RM3,000/month! !!
What is this? Inilah Malaysia Boleh... Sorry ... it should be
Malaysians Boleh , because we're still alive and kicking!!
No wonder so many Ah Loong around lah...
We have been here in the UK for nearly 1 year.It's so fast.so far we really enjoy our life here,one of the reasons is, the living cost particularly in Glasgow is quite cheap.Surprisingly very cheap.The currency exchange is very high compared to our country Msia, nearly 7 times higher.For ex:, if u are a professional working here, you can earn- let say 2-3K permonth, if you are sending back some money for the sake of kumpul harta  u can get rm21K per month,of course u need to deduct for some of the expanses here, well let say 1K GBP , that's a lot.u still can save rm14K permonth
Our average expenditure for foods, is roughly GBP200, no car instalment cos you can buy car without making any loan, good cond. car is about 500gbp-2K, volvo v40, u can get circa 1K gbp,9 yrs old,,,

well 9 yrs old car here compared to Msia is different, why? cos we have MOT for yearly renewal and it's a must, the system here is very effective, once you r caught by the policemen, they have all of the details from A-Z,license,insurance,MOT,road tax.....so dont worry about buying car here, it's very reliable..if you look at people driving kompressor on the road, it's nothing here -you can save your money let say for a few months, and buy it for 5-7K GBP,
as for me i am happy with my citreon mpv, it 's very spacious...our boys got lot of space,
more importantly, snang nak angkut barang...my wishlist for the next car, probably 7 seater SUV but that's still far away to achieve...enuf with what we have right now.i didnt use my car to go to my research place... cos the bus system is very convenient and efficient, 10 mins per bus, and they are very punctual...it saves some money for your fuel 
back to the calculation above, it's very true that having rm3000 is nothing in Msia...our living cost is very high indeed...i have no idea bout myself...i wish to stay here and enjoy our life happily in this org putih's land...

cepatnya masa berlalu...tup2 dah nak masuk stahun,harini ada snow skit..pastu hujan..hujan dan hujan....now is 12-30 dah masuk jumaat, ingat nak layan tv jap sbelum tido...tv mmg 24 jam kat sini, cuma masa je takde nak nengok...imagine channel beratus2 dr 000-999,pakai cable tv, ala2 astro...tp advance lagila cos bleh main game direct dgn guna remote mcm game ps,then yg paling best ada channel on demand...kalau miss, bleh tgk balik ,tekan je play...fwd,rewind...means, we are the one who control d tv...
kalau nak citer pasal program kat sini..macam2 dr yg merapu tak tentu arah, hinggalah yg kontroversi...dan yg berilmu...so tanya la diri sendiri...kadang2 setengah2 program tu tak masuk akal...hehehe means kalau kat Msia dah lama kene ban...contohnya Boobs envy, sex change hospital...mcm2 la yg pelik2 sejajar dgn dunia akhir zaman...n kat sini cam biasa la mana ada sensor2,kalau ada duit bleh tambah lagi channel movie...divided by genre, citer seram, citer tahyul,citer bodoh, seme ada..

snow kat city centre tak menentu..kdang tiba2 ada snow...kdang hujan lebat...kadang terang plak..that's scotland...u need to prepare for this unpredictable weather, we just cant wait to move to a new place Cumbernauld,not sure yet about the actual date...most of the ppl said, that place is suitable for bringing up ur kids... calm,quiet, spacious area...the rental is quiet cheap too...
i think it's very important to let our kids going outside to play...hope they will enjoy playing outside rather than playing games in d house...

-12-30am,this entry is slightly different from the rest...2 unrelated pics,
4 hari lepas aku dlm bas dr Glasgow univ ke Govanhill, tgh tunggu bas,terserempak ngan K chik, duk sembang2...terkeluar topik hantu...heheh...dia bagitau aku, last month anak dia ke London ,holiday...so byk shoot gambar..esp. kat tower bridge..so dlm byk2 gambar, dia terlihat satu gambar yg agak menarik. mula2 dia ingat anak2 dia main2 ..then lepas di explain yg gambar tu tak de edit baru dia percaya...dlm byk2 sequence gambar..gambar ni satu ada tersangkut satu makhluk..makhluk Allah juga...cuma physically tak exist, seriau jugak aku dengar citer..tp bila aku pikir balik...hmm they all apart of us jugak, skali tgk mmg macam edit dlm photoshop...tp mengikut pengakuan diraong gambar ni mmg tak di edit...so whatever way kene la caya.lagipun benda ni mmg exist...
rentetan dr situ k chik tak puashati,so dia browse net...maka jumpa la cerita ini kat internet,baru la dia confident...
